Plowing Ahead Just To Stay Even

If you’ve been online attempting to make money for a few years, you might have noticed a phenomena noticed by others. As you continue to “add pages” to your website, you might just hit a point where you keep on adding more pages, but aren’t getting any additional revenue. In fact, I’ve encountered this very situation quite a few times in recent years.

One of the obvious reasons that you can get more traffic and get paid less than in the past is because not all is created equal. It’s worth considering exactly how your new traffic might differ from your old traffic. Every keyword in Google represents a niche, and some niches pay much better than others.

If you aren’t careful, you may end up getting frustrated as time goes on due to these fluctuations. Who wouldn’t? But you can’t expect revenue to grow in a straight line up, especially if you aren’t paying for marketing. Many internet marketers are relying on organic traffic only, so seeing an organic type of trend line is not surprising. If your budget can handle it, it might be worth it to do other forms of marketing to smooth out some of the rough edges in revenue generation.

I’ve experiment with several ways to increase revenue lately, but the results haven’t been what I expected. Sometimes, it doesn’t matter how much effort you seem to put in, you just can’t move the bar upwards. Oh well, I guess it’s back to the drawing board.

  1. I have found in the past that it is very important to ensure that you are adding content for the right reason. If you are just adding pages because “Content is King” then you are doing it for the wrong reason.

Every page on your site should add value to the visitor. If you are making money selling something ensure that the new page does something. Or if you are creating content for information be sure that it is worth reading.
