One Problem With The Long Sales Page

I’ve always been fascinated by the “long sales page” that so many internet marketers use. Personally, I cringe whenever I land on one of them. They’re almost always the same: long unbroken text, testimonial after testimonial, pushy sales copy, and all the rest. To me, such a page just screams “scam”. I know marketers use them, and I know they must work, but there is one time I can’t imagine how anyone would purchase an item from such a page.
Software programs for other internet marketers almost always use the “long sales page”. But to me this is a big problem. When you see the big pitch, but can’t find a way to contact the company, or deduce how you’d get support if you needed it, you probably won’t drop a ton of money for the product.
And almost all long sales pages are nearly impossible to navigate. And this alone is enough to make you realize you’re probably getting scammed. How many programs can you buy for $199 where you don’t see any cohesive contact info for technical support? Software programs fail all the time, and don’t work on all computers. Obviously you need a way to contact someone in that case.
In the final analysis, I just don’t buy. If the “company” behind the product doesn’t care at all about support, and devotes all their energy to pitching the product, I have no reason to believe I’ll be getting what I wanted in the long run.
