Love or hate Google, it’s hard to argue with the kind of consistent job they’ve done indexing the internet. Little by little and step by step they’ve become instrumental in the daily data querying routines of billions of people. And one way where they have really stayed ahead of the competition in the last six months is how quickly they are getting new content into their index.

Now, I’m speaking of content that is added to existing websites that have already achieved a degree of “trust” in relation to Google. If your domain is newly purchased, I can’t speak to that fact. But for older websites that have been updating for a period of time, you can expect nearly instant indexing.

Now this proves to me that the Google is fresh. If a term you write about has low competition, (which is often the case with news events), you can expect results to display in Google’s indexing within hours. This means you should never give up on how much traffic you have for a day, even if you are starting off slow.

Couple the fast indexing of Google with the chance to get visitors from social networking websites, and you should never be complacent about how much traffic you have. If you feel the number of visitors is insufficient, get out there and drum up more business!
