Internet Marketers, There’s No Time For Tears

If you plan on being an internet marketer, I wish you all the success in the world. I’ve been making my living since 2004 doing just that, and I’ve been able to scale a decent-sized internet marketing company without much help or guidance from an uncaring internet. And one lesson I’ve learned while doing this, has been that the only thing that can’t help you succeed online is whining!

Being a modern human, we expect others to empathize with our plight. But it just won’t happen for an internet marketer. You know why? Our lives are too damn easy and anyone who knows us, and knows how much we’re making online for what we do knows that simple fact. If you compare what most people have to do in order to earn the kind of money we earn with our websites, you realize that the idea of complaining just went out the window.

And, what, really, would we complain about? “I think Google may have SmartPriced my whole account because my conversion rate is lagging!” Sob. Boo hoo indeed.

If you don’t like your new “SmartPriced” CPM, just get more traffic. Or add another whole monetization program to the website. But really, wipe those tears and come up with a solution because no one cares!

The people out there moving boxes, building houses, selling cars, etc and etc ad nauseum are all working harder than we are, and in many case making pennies. Do we really have it so bad when our CPM tanks or, God forbid, we slip a spot on the PageRank Scambar?

I say to hell with any crying, sobbing, or gnashing of teeth. Just get out there and get more traffic. Monetize more pages. Get more people to click on something! In the time we spend crying about how things could have been, we wind up ruining how things should have turned out.

Here, internet marketers, here’s your handkerchief. You can wipe your tears and get back to one of the most fun gigs you could have possibly landed.

  2. Thanks for the hanky. But I won’t be using that since I’ve been trying ways to drive traffic to my sites.
Till then. Let’s keep the hanky away first and win the internet marketing race. Nice article.
