Creativity Is Always In Demand

The internet is a huge virtual “place”. There are billions of indexed websites and untold millions of webmasters competing for eyeballs. But in the end, a creative person can do very well in this medium. Startup costs are low for websites, and it’s relatively to easy to “go viral” if you’re able to create some interesting and unique content. So why don’t more webmasters focus on being creative, rather than following the status quo?

The internet can’t handle too many more derivative works

I’d say that flat out copying is what many webmasters rely on. That’s why you’ll see the appearance of millions of “MySpace layout” websites, despite the fact that many of the sites are just derived from other ones. If webmasters were truly being original and creative, this type of situation wouldn’t happen.

If you consider how many websites are finished right now, you can easily imagine that a greater number of websites don’t exist yet because no one has created them! There are literally thousands of categories that don’t have top-notch websites, and if you have the ability to create one, you’ll be filling a need which can make you money.

Whatever you do, rely on your creative streak to see you through. You can’t go wrong when you do.

  3. I remember someone once writing - I think it came from Marlon Sanders quoting someone else - that there are only 3 things that can’t be automated:

    Leadership
    Creativity and

    Em, I can’t remember the 3rd thing.

But the point was that if you place yourself in a business model that can’t be automated, you cannot be eliminated by competition.
