Does The Quality Of Website Content Matter?

That’s the question I’ll try and answer today. You hear so much about building quality website content. It makes a ton of sense to do so. If your website is very high quality, common wisdom says, you’ll garner all kinds of incoming links and high status in the search engines. This will send multitudes of visitors to your website, which should help you earn money.

But you have to consider the alternative. What if your quality is just so-so. How will this affect your earnings? I can tell you from personal experience that even a low quality website can earn a lot of money. It can’t be so bad that it’s offensive to a visitor, but you certainly can get by with a small amount of text that answers a direct question and still do well. Why is this? Because a percentage of the people who visit your website will click on ads once they’ve consumed your content.

In the end, I’m tempted to say that the quality of content matters…a little. It is better to have high quality content if you expect repeat visitors to your website. Without it, people will have no reason to come.

But if you’re looking to just get people to land and click, you don’t need anything that special.

In the end, I’d still produce the highest quality I could.
