I’ve been messing around with Google Adsense since the beginning of the program. In that time I’ve found that some things work better than ever. In fact, I’ve come up with some principles that almost always seem to do very well. Let’s take a look at what Adsense implementations really work.
Top performing Adsense Ad Implementations
1) Blending your ads. Blending your ads is almost always a sure-fire way to get more clicks. Make the ad look like it’s part of the website (without being misleading) and you tend to have a high CTR.
2) The ads directly above the content almost always perform best. I enjoy using the 336×280 “Large Rectangle” most of all.
3) Always ad some linkunits and search boxes to to your page. Since you’re allowed to use multiple units, it makes a lot of sense to use at least one per page.
4) A three column layout does very well. If you can change your page to allow 3 columns, you can easily max out the ads and the revenue.
These four tips should help you make some money, if you’re not already following them.
