Precision Targeting For SEO Success

If you have the inclination to rank high in the SERPs, and you have enough time and dedication, you can achieve your goals. Long tail is the easiest route to go, in terms of rankings, although it’s a bit tougher in execution because of the additional work needed. But long tail traffic is really valuable, and for that reason alone, should be cultivated. You won’t be carpet bombing the SERPs anymore, choosing, instead, to hone in on the terms that really make a difference for your website.

Long tail search is the traffic that converts

It’s not a very well kept secret by now. Long tail is great traffic because the more word qualifiers a searcher adds to their query, the more specific they become in their actions. In fact, the best traffic is always specific. Would you rather have someone looking for “online batteries” or “buy batteries online”? I would prefer the one with the very specific qualifier “buy”.

Continuing from this example, you can see how you can add precision to your pages. Mention “buy”-ing something. Also mention qualitative measurements like “best”. People always search for the “best” of something. See how adding these qualifiers can also increase the value of your traffic?

Whether you monetize through Adsense, affiliates, or you sell something yourself, long tail rocks

So the next time you construct some pages designed to bring in search engine traffic, don’t skimp on the details. Mention as many variations as you can of the primary keyword and try to add as many action qualifiers as you can. Involved traffic that is actually looking to do something is always going to get you paid the most.

Do you target long tail search for your website?
