One of the big advantages of the Google Adsense is the nearly live time traffic stats that you get. Because of the almost instantaneous nature of the stats, and the presence of tracking channels, you can “play” with your Adsense implementation until you get something nearing perfection. This is one way that Google has managed to stay ahead of the competition, many of whom are delayed by 24 or more hours. For this reason, you should never be afraid to try different tweaks on your implementation. If you’re wrong, switch back. If you’re right, congrats, you’re earning even more money.

Every site has an Adsense implementation that does better than others

It’s take a bit of know-how, but you can almost always squeeze more money out of the ads you display on your website. Just what ads work best might not always be intuitive, so it’s worth it to take the time to experiment. Experimenting is the only way you’ll end up finding out exactly what improves your earnings, and just what won’t work. You can’t rely on what other people do, because it might not work for you.

Experiment with the colors of your links, too, as well as the placement. Sometimes very well blended ads really do cause your earnings to soar. The text link colors, the size of the ads, and the placement all play key roles in how much you’ll get. Plus, the amount of inventory available is also a key.

Don’t hesitate to put link units and a search box up, as well. The extra money sometimes can be surprising. If you have a lot of page views, one small change or addition could end up adding up big. The nice thing about a website is that you’re open for business 24×7x365, so small changes matter.

So, if you’re unhappy with your current earnings in Adsense, you might as well just go ahead and tweak and see if you can give yourself a raise. That’s the gift that keeps on giving.
