Site search has been something that small business owners have needed for years, and not too many decent options are available. Well, it looks like Google has come up with several packages that might be of interest, depending on how many pages the website has.
For $100 yearly, the site owner can have an “ad-free” option for site search at an affordable price.
For the basic $100 a year fee, Google’s Custom Search Business Edition will sift through up to 5,000 web pages.
Larger websites can pay $500 per annum to search as many as 50,000 web pages.
“If you have a web site, we already crawl your web site,” said Google Enterprise product manager Nitin Mangtani.
“Now we are saying you don’t have to manage search within your site.”
Analysts feel that this product is another one aimed squarely at Microsoft’s enterprise business.
Is this something you would find useful?
