Google Is Indexing With Unusual Speed

I can honestly say the speed at which Google is indexing and ranking pages these days is very impressive. Content articles are finding their way into the Google index within 12 to 24 hours most days, even on new domains. Whatever Google has been doing lately, it seems they’ve slowed down on the idea of quarantining new pages and they seem to give most new pages a shot “in the wild”. Here’s what I think helps:

  • Google emphasizes unique content, so if you write it, they’ll index it
  • If your website has trusted links, they tend to trust your content
  • RSS helps you get indexed. Ping when you update
  • Incoming content that is deep linked shows up quick

Since Google now uses a document inception date to track when a document first appears on the internet. As a best practice, I’d recommend trying to get your unique content into Google first. This should help you avoid most issues surrounding scrapers and the like.

If you publish first, you’re first, according to that patent, so that’s a great reason to do everything in your power to get crawled fast. Use the Google Sitemaps program for quick inclusion.
