For quite some time webmasters have been complaining about the lack of production using the google link operand. The command only shows a random assortment of backlinks, which isn’t that useful. Now Google has responded to these objections by releasing a much more detailed link tool.

The Tool is easy to find. Once you’re logged into your Google Webmaster account, click on the URL for any of your websites. You’ll see a “Links” tab. Click on that. If you want any more detail, click on the hyperlinks of the actual links displayed.

The service is similar to the one offered by Yahoo SiteXplorer. This will give you a much more detailed look at your links than the current link command.

Hopefully, they’ll do something about their “site:” command next.
