Google Site Command Shows Sub-Domains

I confess to attempting to use the site: command in Google, despite the fact it barely functions. I’ve learned to try and take the results with a grain of salt, but I was very surprised when I saw a sub-domain come up for the site: search for the www portion. I immediatedly panicked and assumed I’d made some sort of error. But after triple checking, I decided to see if anyone else noticed the problem, and indeed people have.
Update: Google has informed me that this site command change was not an intentional change and we should expect the old behavior to return relatively shortly.
Update 1/29/07: I still see subdomains returns for www site commands. I am not sure why it has not been fixed yet.
I can report that I’m still seeing these two, and it’s not something I’ve enjoyed looking at, in the least. Who knows when this will get fixed?
