PageRank Minus One

In the last few years there have been a proliferation of Google PageRank tools that purport to show you the values of PageRank at “all the data centers”. It’s an exciting interface for extremely bored and loserish SEOs. You input your URL you hit “Submit” and you wait as the PageRank tracking tool does it’s magic. Ahh, now that is fun. I know this is what you dreamt of doing when you were a child!
Looking at several of these tools recently, I have to admit, the data is comical. One website showed PR 6,7, or 8, depending on which data center is being queried. What in the hell is that supposed to tell us? But most importantly, one of the data centers showed “-1″ for the PageRank.
What the hell is -1 PR and how do we avoid getting it?
I have no idea, but I know I don’t want it! In fact, keep that away. A search in Google hasn’t turned up much about this new phenomena, so we’ll all just have to keep our eyes peeled for signs of what it all means.
