Google Accelerates Quest for Quality

Now that Google is so clearly the leader in search, it appears they’re trying to consolidate their power by improving the quality of their Adwords and Adsense programs. They’ve clarified their policy concerning images next to ad units. They’ve also been toughening up on other policies concerning organic search.
How will this affect me?
Ultimately, I see improvements that Google makes as positive steps that will end up making the revenue larger for content developers. If you consistently add keyword-rich content to the internet, especially if it’s well-written and well-marketed, you stand to gain even more than you already do, you little rascal.
The more Google refines their search and ad-serving system, the more likely it is you can make profit with the system, as long as you stay in synch. If you don’t walk in lockstep with Google, though, you may just be in danger of having the wheels come off the wagon. Google has been clarifiying their policies more and more this year as they’ve gotten more open in webmaster communications. Not that they’re great at it, yet, but all of us have enough info to see what Google considers to be signs of high-quality websites.
If you continue to build high-quality websites that are loved by humans, then you should rank well in Google
That’s the story that Google has been telling for years, and they don’t seem to plan on changing it. In the next year, I’m sure we’ll see our share of tricks that fool Google, but I think it’s safe to say that Google has become smarter at detecting certain methods that used to work. As the cat and mouse game continues, both the cats and the mice will adapt.
