Google has been going through a pretty significant update for the last few days, and the upheavals are quite interesting. The PR values that are being handed out are quite interesting too. It looks the trend towards slightly higher values continues.
If you want to look at your updated backlink totals, check out this Google Datacenter. This one shows totals that are quite different than the current ones.
A few observations about this recent update:
1) A “dead” site from 6/27/2006 returned into the rankings.
2) The site command has gone insane currently. You’ll see very strange values each time you check.
3) Many websites are reporting “inflated” values compared to earlier updates. I see a few remarkably undeserving PR 8s on the horizon.
This one is far from over. Most people agree that Google takes around 7 days to fully “roll out” this type of update to all their datacenters.
Is this update good news or bad news for you?
