Internet marketers need to move fast

I say this because you don’t get long on the internet. If you ever adopt a mindset that you’ll just sit back and relax, then it might already be too late for you. If you get soft and lazy, then someone much hungrier than you will come and get your traffic.

So how do you move fast? Basically stay on top of the many trends that are always emerging. It involves constant study, but not something you’ll need to spend all day on. Just look around at what’s happening. See who’s doing what and determine what’s working.

If you stay on top of the game, you end up noticing that internet traffic goes through a lot of stages. You need to pay attention to the ebb and flow, and the best thing to do is to really get to know your visitors. The better you can serve your visitors, the more likely they are to return. A strong base of return users is a solid foundation to build your business on.

The most obvious trends in internet marketing are (in no particular order of importance)

1) Social networking
2) SEO
3) Content creation
4) Ecommerce
5) Viral Marketing
6) Blogging
7) Email newsletters

All of these areas could immediatedly jumpstart your site’s traffic.

Which areas of marketing your website are you focused on?

  5. True.

A great tool for any marketer is to look in their OWN stats and log files and see what people are looking for.
