Google looks to cash in on video - are you in?
May 29, 2006 – 10:17 amHow far along are you in the video revolution going on? Google is moving into Video ads. This could also mean that Google becomes even more like a traditional media company. You can almost imagine them buying a studio of some sort, in order to produce the endless amount of video content they’ll now need.

This is a surprising move, but only if you figure they can’t hire talented professionals. If they find the right people for the job, this will end being a great strategy for them in the long run.
With video ads, Google hopes to capitalize on a growing demand online. Money spent in the United States on such ads is expected to nearly triple to $640 million in 2007, from $225 million this year, according to eMarketer, a market research firm.
The best part is: video ads are priced at a premium. Adsense publishers who can convert people on video ads are looking to make big bucks. What type of site will convert the best? IMHO, a site where people are already there to watch videos. But you might be surprised, and I’m sure you’ll see advertisers in every vertical. Don’t nap on this one.
