You don’t need passion to make money online

You hear that all the time online. You need to have passion about your subject in order to make money. I disagree. I think it makes life easier to have passion, but let’s face it, a cold and clinical Vulcan approach can also help you achieve great results.
I doubt many email spammers truly are passionate about your small penis, or about re-financing your mortgage, yet there appears to be no end to’em. It doesn’t take passion to “press a button” and watch your script send email or to automatically generate website, but the profits can still be substantial.
I think it’s fairer to say, that having passion about your subject will make long-term success more likely. When you do something you love, you’re much more likely to stick with and see it through to the bitter end. Its’ doubtful a rogue web developer will stay true to one of his creations that longer makes him money. However, with passion, it wouldn’t be unheard of for a webmaster to keep building her website for all of her life. Passion keeps your flames burning when the going gets tough.
