The Internet Marketing Hustle

When I entered the internet marketing arena, I thought of the job as being pretty laid-back. After a few years now, I’ve changed my mind. This enterprise requires constant hustle just to stay on top of the game.
The main reasons I can think of this are:
1) Barriers for entry are very low - anyone can register a domain and put a website quickly and cheaply - for this reason million more do than would if their were more costs associated with it
2) Competition is global - you are no longer competing with just the guy down the street - now you are in competition with enterprising people from every country in the world. This makes your job that much harder
3) Technology changes faster than Dash from the Increbibles runs. If you blink, you missed the recent changes, and you won’t get a memo later on explaining what happened. If you snooze, you lose in the internet marketing game
All that said, it’s still the best game around as the hours are just so darn flexible.
