Almost all webmasters know how tough it is to get a DMOZ listing, but I’m sure very few know how hard it is to be de-listed! Brian Turner of Britecorp fought a recent battle which is outlined in the Abacus journal, just to end up having his listing kept in DMOZ.

The main reason Mr. Turner wanted out of DMOZ is because Google was using the description from his DMOZ listing to describe his website, and the information was no longer accurate. After some amount of hemming and hawing, the intrepid DMOZ editors at last “modify” his listing to something somewhat better.
