But I try. Well, actually the 2nd phase of the Jagger Update (Ja), are passing and it looks like I’ll both win some and lose some. But one thing I won’t lose is my cool. I see rampant speculation each and every day passing as fact in the SEO Forums, and I have convinced myself to just ignore it. A website has to be bigger than one search engine, and a webmaster has to be to.

I don’t think people will spend any time discussing “algo changes” in the next few years, because I don’t see events unfolding just as they have been. Rather, I feel some sort of progress will be made in internet marketing, and a morphing will take place as regards our daily jobs. Do I expect these changes to take place overnight? Of course not, no watershed event in history every happens that fast. But slowly I think the fad of the great update watches is fading. Real webmasters with real websites have to work constantly to stay on the top in the search engines, and one single update cannot change that fact.
