There have been a lot of arguments laid out in the last few days concerning the release of Google’s newest product, an Web Accelerator, aimed at broadband users who want to speed up their connection. They can use a proxying system that Google has set up, which in part uses “prefetch” technology for its’ purposes.

The rub lies in the fact that Google has built in a number of catches concerning user privacy, including the astonishing fact that they plan on keeping track of every password entered in their cache system. At this point, the product looks a bit unpolished. Time will tell in the next few weeks if any modifications are made to the current offering.
